Nature walk in February

We’re lucky enough to live in a city that isn’t far at all from all kinds of beautiful nature. We went along a river walk that took us through wonderful wild woods full of fairy doors and natural treasures, and as we went we took a collection of interesting finds. We used a transparent zipped pencil case – turns out it’s absolutely perfect for the job!

We had fun examining them all when we got home, and got some good use of the microscope too. The skeleton leaf was a big hit!

It took a bit of convincing to get them involved, but as we do this more often during the different seasons I’m sure it’ll pick up pace! I took inspiration from home schooling instagrammer @a_little_hello for this idea, she does them often and so beautifully!

These were not buried and have since planted them to see what they grow into! The small one I think is wild garlic.
